TORONTO April 21, 2024 - Thunder Glove, Canada’s Premier Barbarian Band™, will join forces with The Great Octopus for the BEASTS VS. BARBARIANS Spring Tour this May.
The four-city tour will see the 8-bit barbarian warriors of Thunder Glove square off against their most formidable foe yet. The Great Octopus wages battle with dark synth melodies, summoning mythical beasts from the oceans deep in a cosmic eruption of unspeakable sonic terror.
“We have traded blows with many worthy opponents, but none quite as fearsome as the Great Octopus,” said Greg Dalgetty, Thunder Glove’s founder and synthesist. “Has Thunder Glove finally met its match? We’ll soon find out.”
The Beasts vs. Barbarians Spring Tour kicks off at See-Scape in Toronto on May 29, followed by stops at the Toucan in Kingston on May 30, Piranha Bar in Montreal on May 31 and Cornwall Stamp Co. in Cornwall on June 1. Each show promises attendees an unforgettable spectacle as real-life barbarians go toe-to-toe with aquatic horrors from another dimension.
Thunder Glove combines surf music with 8-bit melodies, evoking memories of retro video games and swords-and-sorcery classics. The band’s signature sound was best described by John Law of the Niagara Falls Review: “Enter Thunder Glove — four guys dressed as barbarians playing what sounds like the soundtrack to a long-lost Nintendo game from 1987.”
