TORONTO June 18, 2023 - Thunder Glove, Canada’s Premier Barbarian Band™, has released its first-ever music video for the song “GOLDEN AXE.”
“Golden Axe” sees the barbarian warriors of Thunder Glove waging battle with an evil sorcerer hell-bent on world domination. Despite the sorcerer’s trickery, Thunder Glove prevails with the help of a mystical axe that summons lightning bolts from the heavens. Watch the video.
“We have waged battle with many heinous foes over the years, but few were as treacherous as the evil sorcerer we square off against in ‘Golden Axe,’” said Greg Dalgetty, Thunder Glove’s founder and synthesist. “We trust that this video will strike fear in the hearts of evildoers everywhere, making them think twice before crossing the likes of Thunder Glove.”
“Golden Axe” is the first single from Thunder Glove’s third album, LUST FOR BATTLE, available from Dungeonmaster Records on July 7. The album was engineered and mixed by Simon Head, with cover art designed by Tony Smerek.
Thunder Glove combines instro-surf and 8-bit melodies, evoking memories of swords-and-sorcery films of the ’80s and retro video games. John Law of the Niagara Falls Review may have best described Thunder Glove’s signature sound:
“Enter Thunder Glove — four guys dressed as barbarians playing what sounds like the soundtrack to a long-lost Nintendo game from 1987.”
